    Hi Team,
    I'm joining a small group of Ashoka fellows on a call this Thurs to discuss these 2 questions: 
    What are the principles and strategies which have worked best to help catalyze community problem-solving?
    What are some of the insights which have enabled you to grow your work?

    If you have immediate reactions, reference points or ideas in response to these questions, pls do share them in the comments below. On my end, I'll translate your input into a doc I'm organizing in prep for the call and will share notes with you.

    CDI Team Meeting: Workplans + Buddy System

    Hi all,

    Sorry for the team meeting #miss this week! I tried to reschedule so everyone could make it, which turned out to be a #fail idea.  We'll meet up at the 'usual' time next week: Tuesday 8:30-9:00am PST on RT 6339369.  

    Next week (2/21), Marc and I will kick off the buddy system workplan presentations. I'll present on his workplan, and he'll present on mine, all focused on three core questions:
    1. What are your buddy's top-3 priorities for 2012?
    2. What resources does your buddy need to be successful?
    3. How can we collaborate as a team to help get to done?
    The following week (2/28), Anka + Sarah will do the same, and then Jim + Alicja. (Billy's original email on the subj is copied below, to refresh all our memories.)

    I'm writing to thank you for sharing your individual workplans for 2012. I've reviewed them all and I'm gratified to see the time and effort you've each devoted to planning and prioritizing the upcoming year. I think we're going do to great things here.

    As you know, I'm committed to incorporating key learnings from our December retreat into our day-to-day work and collaboration. Individual work-plans represent a key opportunity to not only be open and transparent with one another, but also to collaborate as a team in a meaningful way to create a shared mission and purpose.

    With that in mind, I'd like to announce the re-launch of our CDI team meetings. Our first meetings in 2012 will be entirely focused on workplans. Building on some of the most productive and most resonate pieces of the team retreat, we'll organize the first few meetings of 2012 as "peer assists".

    In a few words, we'll be using the buddy system to understand, review, and report on one another's workplans. You will each be paired up with another CDIer to review each other's workplans. The pairings are below -- as at the retreat, I've specifically teamed up folks who don't often work together.

    * Anka + Sarah
    * Alicja + Jim

    In advance of the first meeting back, review your buddy's individual workplan on your own. Then, set aside at least 30-minutes to meet with your buddy to better understand the plans for the year. Each CDIer will present to the team on their buddy's workplan, homing in on three key questions:

    1. What are your buddy's top-3 priorities for 2012?
    2. What resources does your buddy need to be successful?
    3. How can we collaborate as a team to help get to done?

    The first team meeting of 2012 will occur Tuesday, January 31st at 8:00am pst. Marc and Laney will present on each other's individual workplans at this meeting. In the next few days, Laney will send around an invite and update the CDI wiki with agenda and details.

    Dear Team, I noticed that it's easier for me to plan for two weeks, not for one, so I'll try to implement two weeks intervals here.

    As you can see I'm still looking for right and the least trouble-causing way to report my work.

    Note: I'll be in Sarajevo for a POINT conference 16.02-19.02 and I'll have problems wit answering quickly - PICKLE e-mails will be priorities :)
